Your breast implants may appear to be bigger or fuller once they've dropped to a lower, more natural-looking position on your chest and "fluffed" into a rounder and softer shape. Changes in the size or shape of your new breasts after augmentation can also occur as swelling and tightness subside.
After dropping, the implants relax or “fluff” into the lower breast areas, taking on the natural teardrop shape which is more projected. The breasts begin to look larger with normal contours, taking on the appearance the patient had in mind when she started the process.
The breasts will not look bigger as they drop but they will change shape and although you see size as the most important part of the process, plastic surgeons also look at the shape.
As a result, the implants settle into a lower, more aesthetically pleasing position on the chest. They appear softer and rounder, and they look larger and closer together. Hence, “drop” (settle lower) and “fluff” (round out and look fuller).
1. Wait for your implants to settle. In the months following your breast augmentation, the muscles and skin around your implants will gradually relax. As this happens, your implants will drop slightly and fill out the lower halves of your breasts, while the tissue above them expands.
To help the process along, your surgeon may recommend you massage the implants or use a breast band to aid recovery. As you can see, there are a range of factors that affect the drop and fluff, but understanding the process and the outcomes is an essential part of your preparation.
Generally speaking, implants begin to drop and fluff after a few days, approach their final position after six weeks, and settle entirely after three months.
Popular implant size – The most popular size for breast implants is between 350 to 400 cc. For most patients, this would look like a small to a large C cup. In fact, all of the top 5 most popular sizes are between 350 to 500 cc.
4 to 6 weeks post-op
Your breasts should look and feel more natural. Patients are advised to make an appointment with their surgeon for a full evaluation of the breast implants.
Breast Implants Start High
Your breasts may also look smaller than you were hoping for. At first, the muscle and breast tissues are tight, compressing your implant. In time, these tissues will relax and loosen, and the breast implant drop will occur and develop into a more natural-looking position.
It will feel tight especially while breathing deeply with discomfort on your upper abdomen. Pain meds will be prescribed to manage the pain and discomfort. Bruising and swelling around the implants is normal, and the implant contour is less defined until the swelling decreases.
Answer: Do over muscle implants drop and "fluff"? Yes when implants placement is over the pectoral muscles they tend to fall and get softer within a year from surgery.
It typically takes three months for your breasts to fully settle into the desired position and may even take 12 months to achieve the final contour.
Answer: Why do my breast look so small after surgery? Because of swelling in this stage of the healing processes, the breast appear large to most patients. As you continue to heal the implant will settle, soften and drop and this changes the overall shape of the breast.

As for the size, it may be between 300 CCs - 400 CCs (just a guess).
While there's little you can do to speed up the drop and fluff process aside from following your cosmetic surgeon's instructions, wearing a surgical bra, being patient, and trusting the process, we recommend you take postoperative photos of your breasts every two weeks to help visualize your progress.
Placing the implant below the muscle does typically make the implant look slightly smaller as the muscle will give the implant a touch more of a natural slope. It also compresses the implant, which makes the breast look slightly smaller.
You'll notice the first signs of implant drop after a few days, and this process can be moved along by using a breast band and massaging your implants to promote faster dropping. (Silicone gels and sheeting may minimize your scarring as well.)
Contrary to popular belief, a C cup is not a large size. It is the most common size among women who have breast augmentation or breast implants. Having a larger chest isn't ideal for women since it can affect their posture and cause shoulder and back pain. It's also a burden to women who prefer to have a smaller chest.
Breasts That Look Bigger or Smaller Than Anticipated
Swelling is normal after breast augmentation, and it can make your breasts look much larger than you expected. It may take several months for swelling to subside completely.
They will not drop closer together as you heal. The placement of the implants and your natural cleavage is based on your anatomy pre-op. They will, however, become softer as you heal and you will be able to push them together to form the look of the cleavage you desire.
How many ccs of volume do you lose under the muscle? Placing implants under the muscle leads to about 50cc loss of volume. What this means is that if you want 300 sizer breasts, you may need to opt for a 350 implant to achieve that result.
It can take as long as three to four months before you are able to see your final results. This is due to the fact that it takes time for your breast implants to settle into their proper position and for all residual swelling to subside.
"Dropping" and "fluffing" refer to the process of your breast implants settling into place after breast augmentation. Directly after your procedure, you might notice that your implants are "riding high" on your chest and may look flatter than you'd hoped or slightly square in shape.
