Use lightweight products and avoid heavy ones. Use products with hydrolyzed proteins. Use conditioner as your styling product. Use root clips while drying, side-part & fluff your roots once your hair is dry.
Raking in products or using a brush or comb for styling – Raking in products or using combs and brushes can break curl clumps and cause thin stringy curls, especially in looser curl types. If you absolutely have to do that, scrunch in some water AFTER applying the products so that your hair clumps up again.
Use a deep conditioner 2-3 times per week.
Keeping your hair moist and conditioned is crucial to help it grow faster. Dry, limp, unhealthy hair will not grow as fast. Additionally, it will break and fall out. Use a deep conditioner on your hair at least two to three times each week.

Washing your curls everyday can remove the natural oils of your curls and makes it difficult to retain moisture. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't wet your hair. "Rinse and condition more often; shampoo less," Hallman advises.
"Anything that can really dry out your hair and really damage it will cause your hair to lose its natural curl pattern," says Taylor.
