After surgery, the implants tend to ride hide and appear small due to the patient's skin tightness in the area. There is tightness because the implants increase dimension to breast tissue causing the skin to compress the implant's shape and size.
Your breast size may also increase slightly. Plastic surgeons sometimes call this “dropping and fluffing”. The breast implants drop into a lower position on the chest and expand in size as the pectoral muscle and breast tissues place less pressure on your implant.
Generally speaking, implants begin to drop and fluff after a few days, approach their final position after six weeks, and settle entirely after three months.
As there is swelling along with the implant, it is obviously larger than the ultimate result. Over time they will settle and the swelling will decrease. The breasts will ultimately appear more normal by 6 weeks to 6 months.
Easier recovery: smaller breast implants put less stretch on the breast tissue and muscle and will settle and drop into the pocket quicker than larger implants, as well there is less discomfort after a breast augmentation with smaller breast implants.
Popular implant size – The most popular size for breast implants is between 350 to 400 cc. For most patients, this would look like a small to a large C cup. In fact, all of the top 5 most popular sizes are between 350 to 500 cc.

It will feel tight especially while breathing deeply with discomfort on your upper abdomen. Pain meds will be prescribed to manage the pain and discomfort. Bruising and swelling around the implants is normal, and the implant contour is less defined until the swelling decreases.
Breasts That Look Bigger or Smaller Than Anticipated
Swelling is normal after breast augmentation, and it can make your breasts look much larger than you expected. It may take several months for swelling to subside completely. At that point, your final results will be visible.
Answer: Does implant size shrink after surgery? The implant will not shrink in size. Over the course of two months the implant will settle and the breast will take on a more rounded/teardrop shape.
Optimal Breast Position Around 6 Months to A Year
While every woman is eager to see their new results, it is important to understand that optimal breast augmentation results can take up to a year to achieve. Your implants will continue to drop and fluff during this time.
After dropping, the implants relax or “fluff” into the lower breast areas, taking on the natural teardrop shape which is more projected. The breasts begin to look larger with normal contours, taking on the appearance the patient had in mind when she started the process.
1. Wait for your implants to settle. In the months following your breast augmentation, the muscles and skin around your implants will gradually relax. As this happens, your implants will drop slightly and fill out the lower halves of your breasts, while the tissue above them expands.
Placing the implant below the muscle does typically make the implant look slightly smaller as the muscle will give the implant a touch more of a natural slope. It also compresses the implant, which makes the breast look slightly smaller.
Implants will unlikely appear larger when they drop, in fact they may look smaller when the swelling subsides.
Answer: Three Months For Final Result
It takes at least three months post breast augmentation to see the final results, so just be patient. They will fill out more in the bottom of the breast as time goes on ( some patients call it dropping and fluffing).
How many ccs of volume do you lose under the muscle? Placing implants under the muscle leads to about 50cc loss of volume. What this means is that if you want 300 sizer breasts, you may need to opt for a 350 implant to achieve that result.
While there's little you can do to speed up the drop and fluff process aside from following your cosmetic surgeon's instructions, wearing a surgical bra, being patient, and trusting the process, we recommend you take postoperative photos of your breasts every two weeks to help visualize your progress.
You'll notice the first signs of implant drop after a few days, and this process can be moved along by using a breast band and massaging your implants to promote faster dropping. (Silicone gels and sheeting may minimize your scarring as well.)
Oral implants are almost always procedures necessitating multiple visits. There is a gap of 3 to 6 months between implanting the titanium component into the jawbone and it becoming ossified or 'fixed' in place.

As for the size, it may be between 300 CCs - 400 CCs (just a guess).
The under the muscle or submuscular approach involves placing the implants below the chest muscle. This is usually a good option for women with little native breast tissue, as the muscle offers greater coverage. The results tend to look more natural than breasts that are placed above the muscle.
Over the Muscle Placement
Placing implants over the chest muscle is a slightly easier procedure with a slightly shorter recovery. Women who have implants placed over the muscle tend to have less post-operative discomfort because the chest muscle is not manipulated during surgery.
The truth is, whether implants are placed over or under the muscle, it will have very little to do with sagging. Sagging is commonly caused by weight gain or loss, pregnancy and gravity over time. It's easiest to remember it this way – it's the breasts that sag, not the implants.
But for the average sized women with normal measurements, the C cup implants are between 300-400 cc. The 300 and 325 cc volumes can be thought of as small C cups. The 375 and 400 cc as large C cups. 350 cc might be considered a classic middle C cup implant.
